Heather C. North along with her husband, Jed founded NannyTucket, LLC. Heather spent over 5 years (2003-2007) as the live-in nanny for US Senator John and Elizabeth Edwards. She has traveled all over the country and parts of Europe with families. Heather has worked with many high-profile families, including White House Press Secretaries, Governors, Reporters, Business Executives and Counsel. She has helped families identify well suited babysitters and has been involved in everything from day-to-day issues of child care, to coordinating schedules with the US Secret Service and traveling for weeks at a time on the campaign trail. Her natural understanding of people, children and family situations led many other families to rely on her recommendations for babysitters.
Heather has been working with children for over 14 years. Heather worked as a lead teacher at Bright Horizons in Arlington, VA and put herself through college working various year-round nanny and babysitting jobs. Heather also volunteered at in orphanage in South Africa in 2007, working daily with infants and toddlers living with HIV.
Heather graduated from Duxbury High School in 1997. In 2001, she graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Communications with a number of courses in Early Childhood education.
Heather has spent a number of summers on the island (too many to count) and in 2002 met her husband Joseph, "Jed" McGraw. Graduate of Colby College, Jed was working as a Beach Ranger for the Trustee's of Reservations on Great Point and she was a waitress at The Tavern. They were engaged on a Nantucket Beach and married in 2005. The island is a very special place to them. Their hope is to make it just a little bit more special by offering the convenience and quality of NannyTucket to all the other people who love this special little island.
